Much of the personal toxic burden is contributed to by unhealthy products in the home environment & in personal care products that contain chemicals which are detrimental to health. These products can be easily avoided and the home transformed into a healthier space.
These devices emit electromagnetic frequencies which over time can compromise health. Wi-Fi is especially powerful & emits damaging radiation levels & electro magnetic frequencies that lower immunity, cause cell damage, memory loss & other conditions. Use an ethernet cable instead of Wi-fi/bluetooth and spend time outdoors 'grounding' in between exposure to computers, Tv's, microwaves, fridges etc. Grounding/earthing sheets, mats & radiation protection devices can provide good counter-measures.
Avoid having cell/mobile phones near you all the time. Use speaker option when in use. Preferably switch back to a fixed land line phone rather than portable or cell phones. Avoid all electrical devices in the bedroom. Do not sleep near your mobile phone, or keep it on your body 24/7.
Energy saver bulbs/fluorescent lights contain & release mercury and are dangerous to dispose of. Use of these bulbs/globes in the home can cause depression, headaches, eye irritation, tiredness & compromise immunity.
They emit unnatural light spectrums which omit certain colour frequencies.
LED lighting is also harmful & to be avoided. LEDs in Computers, TV's, iPads screens are minute flickering, artificial pulses which affect the pineal and suppress melatonin production, causing insomnia. Switch off devices at least an hour before bed. Return to incandescent bulbs or use halogens which are better than fluorescent or LED.
Many items of furniture around the home emit PCB's, BPA, Phthalates & VOC'S, (volatile organic compounds) which are carcinogens.
Plastics, vinyl, artificial fibres, flame retardant coatings, synthetic pressed wood emit chemicals into the home which are then breathed in. Formaldehyde released from furniture is linked to hormone disruption, obesity, stunted growth, lower IQ's. etc.
Mattresses contain metal springs which create imbalance in electromagnetic fields of the body. Organic cotton springless mattresses (futons) do not contain metal, making them healthier options.
Bedding also can contain pesticides from cotton, choose organic sheets and organic cotton filled pillows.
Electric blankets also interfere with bio-electrical fields of the body and drain energy and are best avoided.
Contain a wide range of ageing ingredients and endocrine disruptors.
Switch all shop bought chemical cleaning agents to natural alternatives, such as bicarb soda, white vinegar, hydrogen peroxide (3%) lemon juice, essential oils - Lavender, tea tee oil, eucalyptus oil. These products are natural, cheaper & do not cause hormonal imbalances.
PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS
Often contain Sulphates, Sulphides, Sodium Lauyrl Sulphate, (SLS), glycols, DEA, Dioxane, Alcohol, Talc, Mineral oils, Parfumes, etc. All of these chemicals are harmful to health, especially affecting kidneys, liver, endocrine system and can cause skin reactions, allergies and toxic buildup.
Many makeup products, shampoos, conditioners, soaps, nail polishes, hair dyes particularly, contain these harmful chemicals & alternatives to these can be found.
Most conventional make-up products also contain heavy metals & a whole array of other toxins. Most face/body moisturisers, cleansers and anti ageing creams are in fact a chemical cocktail of ageing ingredients.
Alternative products can be found in health food shops or online which are chemical free. see below for options. Use Castor oil on face & body, which pulls out toxins from skin.
Antibacterial soaps, hand washes and wipes and coatings on furniture (just like antibiotics) kill off the beneficial bacteria in the gut, lowering immunity, they also disrupt thyroid function & hormonal levels & some soaps release a deadly gas called chloroform. Prolonged use of anti-bacterial agents make the body resistant to several forms of bacteria in the future. 'Soap free' soap or plant based detergents, bicarb soda, borax or castile soap are the best forms of soap to maintain healthy skin & skin PH.
Products that are perfumed contain synthetic fragrance or 'parfum', which is found in air fresheners, washing powders, fabric softeners, perfumes, soaps, shampoos, make-up, scented candles, deodorants, hair dyes, sprays & gels, body lotions, face-creams, sunscreens etc. 'Parfum' is another term for an array of chemicals that can be carcinogenic, endocrine/hormonal disrupting, causing chemical sensitivity & allergies.
Switch to healthier options or avoid completely.
Conventional deodorants contain many carcinogens & aluminium, which is also to be strictly avoided.
SYNTHETIC CLOTHING & FABRICS - Artificial fabrics interrupt the natural energy flows of the body. Most conventional clothes are synthetic, polyester, acrylic, fleece, (made from plastic), rayon, nylon are treated with chemicals in manufacture as well as being totally unnatural. Cotton is mostly GMO, sprayed with pesticides, artificial dyes & other chemicals.
Natural fabrics such as organic hemp, wool, silk, cashmere, alpaca wool, allow the body to breathe & are far more beneficial. It is good to invest in some items of organic, natural clothing & nightwear & a high-thread count organic cotton bedding set.
Avoid dry-cleaning, chemicals used are carcinogenic.
ROUNDUP & BUG SPRAYS
These things not only kill weeds, bugs and pests, they also are slow kill to humans too. Avoid them and get some exercise weeding or cease plant racism! Place bugs outside and stop harming your health & the environment with these highly toxic chemical sprays. Use salt, honey, diatomaceous earth, citronella, and essential oils to deter bugs, (peppermint for ants.)
Essential to chose organic foods to avoid toxic body burden.
These are also endocrine/hormonal disruptors, which leach chemicals into food, products and anything that is in a plastic container, unless it is specifically designed not to. (BPA Free). Plastic waste on this planet is epidemic level and seriously harming wildlife, marine life & humanity all around the world. Our current methods of waste disposal are unsustainable & unethical. Everyone should be responsible for the waste they create & its disposal, switching to biodegradable products & boycotting plastic packaging as much as possible. Use recycling disposal options when possible. Refuse plastics when shopping & take reusable shopping bags and paper bags. Buy things in glass containers and reuse them.
Most products that you see repeatedly advertised on Tv are harmful and will add to the toxic burden. Shop alternatively in health food shops, co-ops & at online companies that promote products that support health & longevity. Research potential harmful ingredients before buying, especially if you have a specific health condition.
